We're in the process of transforming the way we manage and distribute
documents. France's government recently passed an important
new law that enables us to go paperless. As a staffing provider, we
have many requirements related to Social Security and medical aid.
By going paperless, we can help reduce the costs related to paper,
postage and archiving.
But persuading the business to fund this wasn't easy, in part
because our industry revenue had declined 30 percent since the
beginning of the recession. Ultimately, we sold the project by
explaining that going paperless would help keep headcount stable
by automating administrative chores, such as archiving, that we
formerly do manually.
In addition, we've turned to virtualization technology. This has
helped us replace servers on a 8:1 basis, replacing every eight old
servers with one new server. It will also boost satisfaction among
our clients and employees, as both groups will have access to forms
and data online, and will also enhance our employees' productivity.
They will no longer need to look for documents, because the documents
will be sitting right there on their PC screens.
